Three Strikes Law

Edward N. Ajlouny
San Jose Three Strikes Defense Attorney
25 to Life

The California Three Strikes Law (also known as the "three strikes and you're out" law) is serious business. The stakes are high. A conviction results in a sentence of 25 years to life. The "third strike" doesn't have to be a violent crime like murder or rape. It can be any Felony at all, even a petty theft (where there is any theft prior). One man received a life sentence for stealing video-tapes.

If you are facing criminal charges, and you already have "one strike" or "two strikes," you need a lawyer right away. At the law office of Edward N. Ajlouny, I can help you preserve your freedom. Call Edward Ajlouny for a free consultation. I will fight hard to protect your rights.

Knowledgeable and Persuasive

There are many ways that I can get a client's sentence reduced. First, I will use my experience to determine a client's actual role in the crime, if any. In a typical "Three Strikes" case, bail amounts are often quite high. The accused is in jail, and often pressured to plea bargain. I fight to keep bails low and keep my clients out of custody. I also try to have felony charges downgraded to misdemeanor charges, and have been successful on many occasions.

Sometimes, I can persuade the Court or the Prosecutor to "strike a strike." First, I petition the D.A.'s "Three Strikes Committee" to strike a strike. If that doesn't work, I bring a Romero motion at sentencing to do the same thing. If I am successful, the case is no longer a three strikes case, and my client is no longer looking at the possibility of life in prison.
